With 150 horsepower and four driven wheels at its disposal, the range-topping Dacia Duster 1.3 TCe performs surprisingly well on bad roads. Granted, the lack of frame puts a limit on how far it can go, but the rest can be improved with mods from CP Performance (Carpoint).
In this unlikely off-road conversion, the cheap Romanian CUV has gained a fair amount of extra ground clearance alongside stainless-steel skid plates. It rides on Dotz steelies wrapped in Insa Turbo Dakar tires sized 235/65R16. The bumper, the side sills and the wheel arches are finished with a scratch-resistant paint, and the rest of the body is wrapped in a matte black vinyl wrap sporting red and white accents.
The equipment on board includes an expedition rack, powerful LED headlights, an auxiliary light bar on the roof and high-power anti-fog lamps. Rounding off the list are a snorkel, bull bars and a winch.
For the interior, the company proposes a leather and Alcantara trim with red accents. There is also a Rolls-Royce-style ‘Starry Sky’ headliner, but to us, it looks more like sparks from a wildfire due to also being red. The trunk can be lined with corrugated steel panels if you need it, and there are also branded floor mats in the catalog.
All components are already available to purchase at the CP Performance website.
