Slightly a year after the debut of the Ferrari 296 GTB, the Italian automaker has introduced its track-focused variant for the GT3 racing series. You could consider it a successor to the 488 GT3.
A large rear wing and a revised aerodynamic kit are perhaps the main exterior features. The only thing the Ferrari 296 GT3 inherits directly from its road-legal Berlinetta counterpart is the 3.0-liter V6 – but without the electric add-on.
Unfortunately, the company is in no hurry to reveal the performance specs of the new racer. The street-going Berlinetta maxes out at 663 PS (654 hp / 488 kW). What we do know is that it uses a purpose-designed, six-speed, racing-grade transmission with paddle shifters for fast switching.
And then there is the cockpit, which the company claims it developed based on the feedback received from pilots and private teams. The interior is stripped for minimal weight and offers excellent view along with an intuitive UI.
