Gallery: Liberty Walk-tuned Ferrari F40 soaks in Tokyo rain

We have already reported about one of Liberty Walk’s most ambitious styling projects of late. The company took a Ferrari F40 and permanently cut its body panels to achieve an over-the-top JDM look. We were preparing to hate it, but you have to admit that these photos of it made in the capital of Japan really do the project justice.

Dramatic lighting, rainy weather and cobblestones under the wheels sum up to a dreamy picture reminiscent of modern video game screenshots. Photographers Larry Chen and Dino Dalle Carbonare did an outstanding job capturing the unique style of this one-off F40, and YouTuber Hagerty even filmed a 14-minute-long documentary delving into the details.

In case you missed it, the carbon-bodies LB-Works Ferrari F40 was previewed in 3D sketches in December and made its first show debut in January this year. In order to give it a unique front end with a splitter blade, a vented hood and new fixed headlamp housings, the tuner had to introduce some permanent modifications to the structure of the supercar. The arches were cut out, too, and the suspension was slammed. Reports are saying that the cabin and the engine stayed stock.
