Ferrari’s next car is a Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, apparently

Okay, that headline may be a stretch, but someone on Weibo has actually posted pics of a Chinese-made Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sedan being tested near the Prancing Horse’s Maranello HQ. It seems likely that Ferrari is interested in studying the competition ahead of launching its own electric supercar – even if the word “competition” sounds ironic in this context.

CarNewsChina provides further interesting context for the story. Apparently, multiple insider posts on Weibo had appeared earlier, claiming that Ferrari executives paid an official visit to Xiaomi in 2024. It was speculated that the Italian company wanted to secure a partnership agreement with the Chinese automaker. We are now being told that the agreement fell through, but Ferrari still procured a single Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sedan for research and testing purposes. Granted, reports of this kind are hard to confirm, but the practice itself is not unheard of.

At any rate, the Chinese EV has been sighted near the Ferrari testing grounds quite a lot lately. At the same time, the company is actively developing a mysterious new car so far hidden under a test mule body. You will find it towards the end of the gallery here.
