Carbon body option for the Ford Mustang costs more than the car itself

U.S.-based aftermarket company Asira Designs proposes converting your regular Ford Mustang into a full-carbon one. Prices for the conversion start from a cool $43,000, which beats even the $38,000 sticker of the V8-powered Mustang GT.

Included in the cost are carbon-fiber body panels and aero kit parts, largely finished with a paint concealing the carbon strands. Should you wish to wear the carbon exposed and let everyone know you can afford it, be prepared to throw in an extra $15,000 for this ‘naked’ look. And if you are more interested in weight savings, the company says the ‘Stang will shed around 200 pounds (91 kilograms).

Also on the list are carbon-fiber interior trim bits, sport seats, new wheels and tires, Brembo brakes, assorted suspension upgrades and a custom exhaust system. Rounding things off is a Whipple supercharger capable of extracting up to 825 PS (814 hp / 607 kW) out of the engine.
