Ford’s latest Dark Horse reveals itself as a 795-HP supercar

Back in the beginning of the year, Ford announced a particularly powerful “SC” version coming to its Mustang Dark Horse lineup. The company has now revealed all the specifications.

Apparently, the new Dark Horse SC commands a 5.2-liter V8 supercharged to 806 PS (795 hp / 593 kW) and 895 Nm (660 lb-ft) of torque. This makes it only 20 horsepower (15 kilowatts) less powerful than the track-focused, strictly-limited Mustang GTD.

Compared to the existing Dark Horse model, the SC modification benefits from MagneRide suspension components, an enhanced aero kit and an optional Track Pack. The latter includes 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels wrapped in racing-grade rubber, carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes and a rear bench delete. The modifications help the ‘Stang shed around 70 kilos (15 pounds) of weight compared to its street-friendlier counterpart.

Preorders are already running, with the first deliveries scheduled for the summer. The standard Mustang Dark Horse SC starts from U.S. $108,485, while its Track Pack version begins at $144,985. While that may sound like a small fortune to pay for a Ford Mustang, it bears reminding that the GTD costs from $325,000 before options.
