Car Tuning
Shelby American has finally unveiled its first project based on the latest Ford Mustang. Aside from the traditional “Super Snake” moniker, it gets a revamped exterior, tweaked suspension and 842 PS (830 hp / 619 kW). Only 250 units will be made for the United States; the prices are pending.
The stock 5.0-liter Coyote V8 gains a Whipple supercharger, a Borla exhaust system and a plethora of other mods that drastically raise its output. This isn’t the only option, though – those who would rather keep the non-turbo 487 PS (480 hp / 358 kW) powertrain are welcome, too. All other options on the list are still the same regardless of your choice.
Specifically, there is a suspension upgrade, a new aerodynamic kit complete with a rear wing, and lightweight carbon/aluminum body panels. To further reduce the weight, the car rides on magnesium wheels minimizing its unsprung mass.
Customers can choose between coupe and convertible and decide whether they want the stick shift or a modern AT. Select Ford dealerships are already taking orders, with the production start scheduled for this summer.
