According to Motor1.com, the sales figures in the pickup truck segment have been particularly interesting in Q3 2023, exposing a few new trends. Most importantly, the compact-sized Ford Maverick truck has found more buyers than the latest Ford Ranger.
The Ford F-Series continues to reign supreme in the full-size pickup truck segment, followed by the Chevrolet Silverado and the Ram trucks. Chevrolet enjoys the fastest growth in the segment with 22.4% compared to the previous quarter.
Things look different in the mid-size segment with Toyota Tacoma in the lead, Chevy Colorado at the second line and Jeep Gladiator at the third. The Ford Ranger ranks sixth with a dismal 7,385 units sold in Q3, down 40.7 percent from the previous quarter.
The Ford Maverick retains leadership in the compact truck segment. The model has enjoyed an excellent third quarter of the year with a growth of 83.4% and 23,941 units sold – nearly three times as many as the Ranger.
