Genesis announces a whole family of hybrids

Genesis R&D chief Manfred Harrer believes that the market needs more hybrid vehicles, and the company has it covered with a whole range of models coming soon.

According to Harrer, street-legal prototypes are already running tests. He neglected to mention specific models or release dates, but confirmed that buyers will be choosing from multiple hybrid configurations. There will be both parallel (MHEV/PHEV) and serial (REX) hybrids on offer, the latter referring to a powertrain type that uses a combustion engine to power up electric motors.

Aside from the above, Genesis is continuing the development of the powerful GV60 Magma EV (see the gallery and the video). It is the first vehicle from the automaker’s deluxe Magma lineup.
