ANCAP rates Haval Jolion at 5/5

The Australasian New Car Assessment Program – ANCAP – has posted a video showing the China-made SUV Haval Jolion undergo a series of crash tests. Not everything went smoothly, but much did.

The Jolion, which has been available Down Under since the last spring, has withstood multiple collisions with rigid obstacles and was awarded five stars out of five for safety. Driver protection and adult front passenger safety were given a ranking of 90%. The head-on collision with a 100% overlap and the lateral impact test were found the most problematic.

Child safety was rated lower at 84%, but still higher than the pedestrian safety, which scored 64%. Safety assists, on the other hand, got 92%.
