Hennessey Venom F5 LF touches down with 2,000+ HP

U.S. automaker and tuner Hennessey Performance has unveiled the Venom LS, a hypercar built by its custom project department called Maverick. A full-carbon monocoque cabin and a revised body kit are the biggest improvements here.

Starting with a normal Hennessey F5, which is available in coupe and roadster forms, the company turned it into a cross between the track-only F5 Revolution and the power-boosted F5 Evolution. While the standard F5 is no slouch itself with 1,842 PS (1,817 hp / 1,355 kW) heading for the wheels, the Evolution spec drives the output further to 2,059 PS (2,031 hp / 1,514 kW).

This is accomplished with the help of a 6.6-liter Fury V8 outfitted with dual turbos and stripped clean of any hybrid tech. The nominal output is only available on E85 (ethanol + petrol) fuel instead of regular pump gas, but the car supports both. It also benefits from an adaptive suspension setup for added flexibility.

On the aero side of things, the F5 LF boasts a revised front splitter and a new rear wing that stands full 29 cm (11.3 inches) tall. The initials “LF” stand for Louis Flory, the car collector who ordered this one-off. Interestingly, he opted for a six-speed manual transmission instead of the heavily recommended seven-speed DCT. We all know how engaging driving manual can be, but one has to wonder what kind of reflexes one must have to row one’s own gears in a four-digit horsepower car.

Wrapping up the project, Hennessey retrimmed the interior in a unique combination of materials and colors and put some badges on the rear end to let everyone know that this roadster is special even by the F5 standards.
