Novelties
Honda revealed the sedan-shaped Civic a few months ago, and now, the five-door hatchback joins the family with the same overall modifications and a few major differences.
While the sedan rolls off the production lines in Canada, the new model is made in the USA for the first time on record. It has a-pillars moved slightly farther to the back, a wider track at the rear, and a longer wheelbase. Aside from the fifth door, the tail end sports new brake lights. The front grille pattern is also new.
Buying the standard trim level lands you with a seven-inch digital dash and same-sized infotainment unit. Higher trims offer 10.2- and 9-inch screens, respectively. Tech is where things get more interesting: the 2022 Civic hatchback benefits from assorted suspension and steering tweaks and keeps the six-speed manual transmission (you can go CVT if you want). As for the engines, customers can choose between a 2.0-liter non-turbo rated at 160 PS (158 hp / 118 kW) and a 1.5-liter turbo worth 183 PS (180 hp / 135 kW).
