The current Hyundai Kona lineup was completed with the recent reveal of the EV version joining the petrol and hybrid variants already on sale. There is also the N-Line modification around. But wait, where is the Kona N flagship?
Speaking at a press-conference dedicated to the launch of the Kona Electric, a Hyundai executive admitted that there was still no finite decision on whether to produce the second-generation Kona N. The first one was a petrol-powered performance SUV, but the newcomer would have to be all-electric to stay in line with the latest trends.
He also hinted that the decision would depend on how well the audience would react to the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Should that model enjoy brisk sales, the Kona will soon follow up with an N spec of its own. It remains to be seen whether it will have just one electric motor or multiple.
