Instead of a trailer home, why not get a trailer sauna?

Bend Teardrop, a camping trailer specialist from Oregon, has unveiled a new light trailer lineup called Saltsaun. This time around, it’s not a home on wheels but a sauna that you can enjoy in the middle of whatever wilderness you can drive it to.

The base design is called Saltsaun NW. It is a one-axle trailer that’s 2.4 x 1.8 meters (8’x6’) large and riding on 15-inch wheels. Thanks to an impressive ground clearance of 330 mm (12.9 inches), the sauna can be taken nearly anywhere without impacting the performance of your SUV too much.

The interior is lined with cedar wood, while the exterior sports partial aluminum plating protecting the wood from bad weather and road reagents. There is a small porch at the back with a couple of integrated seats. The sauna part contains blocks of Himalayan salt and can be optioned with colorful ambient lighting.

Customers can choose between an electric stove and a classic wood-burning one. The latter option can be viable away from civilization where electricity is a rare commodity while firewood is ubiquitous. Still, Bend Teardrop ships the trailer with a solar panel and a battery pack to keep the interior LEDs running. The stove can heat up to 93 ºC (200 ºF) and provide a complete sauna experience for up to 5 people.

Depending on the options, the trailers weigh from 500 to 750 kilos (1,100–1,650 lbs). A simple trailer hook is all you need for towing, the company says. You can buy a trailer outright from $10,000 or rent one from $200/day.
