Isuzu D-Max AT35 by Arctic Trucks veers off the paved path

All earlier Isuzu D-Max generations had an off-road upgrade version, and the current one gets such a version this week thanks to Iceland-based tuner Arctic Truck.

The latest D-Max debuted two years ago (watch the enclosed 30-second ad if you need a reminder). The new off-road upgrade for it will be called AT35, produced by Arctic Trucks, and sold through all Isuzu dealerships.

Included in the package are special wheels wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich tires, Bilstein shocks, enhanced front suspension, an impressive amount of ride height, flared fenders, new kick plates, and new floor mats.

The engine stays the same, however. Depending on the country, the pickup truck ships with diesel engines 1.9 and 3.0 liters large rated from 150 to 190 PS (148 – 187 hp; 110 – 140 kW, respectively) and from 350 to 450 Nm (258 to 332 lb-ft) of torque. Transmission options include Isuzu six-speed manual and Aisin automatic. On-demand AWD is implemented through a hard coupling with a locking rear differential.

The upgraded D-Max just debuted in Birmingham, Great Britain, and will go on sale next spring.
