Automobili Estrema will be sending its only production car so far, the all-electric Fulminea, to the North Loop with its sights set on dethroning Porsche and Tesla there.
The Italian company revealed the first concept vehicle in 2021, but has yet to roll out a production-ready example. It is implied to have an all-carbon body propelled by a quartet of electric motors rated at 2,040 PS (2,012 hp / 1,500 kW).
It is official that the car will take advantage of cutting-edge battery tech that combines solid-state lithium-ion batteries with supercapacitors. The resulting pack will weigh around 300 kilograms (660 pounds) and be enough for 520 km (323 miles) of driving, although the measurement method and speeds are unknown.
With the battery pack already in, the car will weigh less than 1.5 metric tons (3,300 pounds), the company promises. This would make it a whopping 600 kilos (1,323 pounds) lighter than the Rimac Nevera.
All dynamic performance indicators remain to be measured, but we are promised a 0-320 km/h (0-199 mph) sprint in less than ten seconds.
The test drives on the ‘Ring are scheduled to begin in September. The production version of the Fulminea is slated to debut in June. Only 61 units will be made priced from €1,960,000.
