Car Tuning
Tuner Quadratec, which boasts the widest supply of aftermarket options for Jeep cars, has celebrated its 30th birthday by unveiling the one-off Wrangler YJL. Let us have a closer look at it.
The team started with a regular JL Wrangler, which it fitted with YJ-style rectangular LED headlights. A robust metallic bar with round auxiliary lights mounted on it substituted the front bumper.
Stainless-steel pipes were used to make the running boards and the doors. Aluminum fender extensions were added alongside a lightweight Bimini top (removable, of course).
The suspension received around 100mm (4”) of extra ride height thanks to the Teraflex RT4 Long Arm Kit and custom shocks. Quadratec CJ Retro Wheels filled out the arches along with Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 37” tires, and dual cardans were installed for driveshafts.
Inside, the OEM multimedia was thrown away and a modern Alpine unit was put in its place. Corbeau Trailcat seats and all-weather mats rounded things off.
The car may be a one-off project, but you can come up with something very similar if you have enough money and care to study the Quadratec catalog in detail.
