Jetour T1 goes hybrid

Jetour is getting ready to introduce the plug-in hybrid version of its Shanhai T1 crossover, which debuted at this year’s Beijing Auto Show (see video).

We are promised a fuel economy of 1.08 liters per 100 kilometers, which comes to almost 218 miles per U.S. gallon.

The car is sized 4,706 x 1,967 x 1,845 mm (184 x 77 x 72 inches) large with 2,810 mm (110 mm) of wheelbase. The wheels wear 235/60 R19 tires, and the approach and departure angles amount to 27 and 25 degrees, respectively. With the optional sunroof installed and all liquids in, it weighs 2,000 kilograms (4,409 lbs). Drop the sunroof, and it goes down to 1,963 kilos (4,328 lbs). Trailers up to 1,600 kilos (3,527 lbs) are supported.

For the powertrain, the part-electric Jetour T1 relies on a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine sourced from Chery – specifically, its Fulwin sub-brand. It makes 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) and accelerates the SUV to 180 km/h (112 mph) at most.

There is also a petrol variant of the T1 coming, rumored to be called “TL”. This one will allegedly ship with two engine options – 1.5L and 2.0L. The former will make do with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive, while the latter will benefit from an eight-speed auto and four driven wheels.
