Jetour Traveler Plus bows in China

Chinese automaker Jetour has opened its preorder books for a stretched version of its Traveler SUV otherwise known as the T2. It will be known as the “Plus” version and will arrive at the local market with seven seats instead of five and standard AWD.

The newcomer spans 5,034 mm (196.6 inches) from bumper to bumper and 2.8 meters (109.4 inches) from axle to axle. The trunk takes up to 1,653 liters (58.37 cubic feet) of luggage and entails certain rear-end modifications. Other than that, the T2/Traveler looks unchanged on the outside.

Trim-wise, customers can look forward to a panoramic roof, a 15.6-inch infotainment display, 16-speaker audio and a climate control system with a fine particular matter filter. Drivers get an ADAS package certified for SAE Level 2.5.

Power for the Traveler Plus comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 254 PS (251 hp / 187 kW) and 390 Nm (288 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends the torque to all four wheels, and the TCU offers eight selectable modes for all driving scenarios ranging from urban to off-road.

Prices start from 179,900 Yuan, which currently amounts to U.S. $25,800.
