Meet Karma Kaveya, the latest sub-3-second EV

Karma Automotive has presented its latest car planned for production. Named the Kaveya, it is a futuristic all-electric Grand Tourer capable of hitting 97 km/h (60 mph) in three seconds or less. Speaking at the unveiling event, new company CEO Marques McCammon called it ‘a reboot of the brand.’

The vehicle has flowing body outlines, unusual hidden headlights and Lamborghini-style lifting doors. The full technical specifications aren’t there yet, but the company said there would be two main powertrain options.

Specifically, the base RWD version will utilize a single e-motor rated at 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW), while the AWD flagship will pump out more than a thousand horses. The top speed will be capped at 290 km/h (180 mph). A 120-kWh battery will yield up to 400 km (250 miles) of range.

The Karma Kaveya is slated for small-batch production. The dates are unknown, but we do know that the company plans to churn out a few hundred units and call it a day.
