According to reports, Lexus may be interested in taking the new Toyota GR 86/Subaru BRZ coupe and building its own car based on it, likely called the Urban Coupe (UC for short).
The only evidence right now comes in the form of one blurry spy photo that nonetheless reveals a car looking much like the GR 86/BRZ outfitted with the trademark Lexus spindle grille.
Aside from a new exterior, the premium coupe may wind up with its own interior fit-and-finish, as well as a Lexus infotainment system.
It is probably too early to discuss specifics. The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR 86 have recently went into their second generation. Both come powered by a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission and rated at 235 PS (232 hp / 173 kW).
The alleged Lexus UC should debut sometime later this year.
