2024 Lexus LS going on sale in Japan

The 2024 Lexus LS sedan will reach the showrooms in Japan on October 16 priced from 10.94 million Yen, or roughly 73,000 USD. It combines a stiffer body structure with softer suspension, a wider list of available equipment and digital dashboard coming as standard.

Starting at the front, there is a new brace meant to make the car more rigid and easier to steer at the same time. Certain suspension mounts have been reinforced as well, and rear-wheel steering has been made available for all modifications of the car (not just the RWD ones, like before). Rear shocks have been tweaked for smoother operation in Comfort mode.

Inside, the main novelty comes in the form of a 12.3-inch digital dashboard. Front and rear-facing dash cameras are included in the base trim level, and the owner can configure the Lexus app on their smartphone to use it as a key fob.

Much has happened in the driving assistance department, too. The on-board electronic systems allow the car to drive itself in the urban traffic at up to 40 km/h (25 mph) and park itself remotely (smartphone-activated self-parking). Emergency braking has been improved, too, although the details are unknown.
