Mazda announces a Tokyo show concept

The Mazda Vision Model will try to steal the spotlight of the Japan Mobility Show when it opens its doors in Tokyo on October 30, 2025. The teaser makes it look like a coupe, but we suspect it might actually be a sedan.

The only image published thus far reveals a gently sloping roofline and a glass dome that doesn’t match any of the automaker’s current models. The outlines are typical for a coupe, but pulling shadows in a photo editor reveals two side doors separated by a b-pillar. As such, we believe it’s either a sedan or a liftback.

A closer look reveals sci-fi-inspired asymmetrical headrests and what looks like a perfectly level dashboard without any protruding screens or other distracting elements.

Mazda points out that it will attend this year’s show with a motto that goes, “The joy of driving fuels a sustainable tomorrow.” It goes on to say: “Mazda aims to contribute to a bountiful planet while responding to people’s passion for cars and driving, and their desire to enjoy driving for as long as possible.”

Along with the Vision Model, the company will be bringing a new technology for reducing emissions to the show, as well as a synthetic fuel sample derived from marine plant life.
