Survey finds the most issue-prone used cars

The UK-based magazine What Car? and car maintenance specialist MotorEasy have teamed up to produce a list of the country’s least reliable cars on the aftermarket.

A survey was conducted that encompassed nearly 25,000 owners of various cars aged 6-20 years. The respondents were asked to mention any defects or issues they encountered within the past two years of using the car and the associated maintenance expenses.

As a result, ‘anti-leaders’ were determined in every market segment based on the number of complaints received and the upkeep costs. These are: Citroen C3 (Mk2), Vauxhall (Opel) Astra (Mk4), Mercedes-Benz C-Class (Mk4), Jaguar XF (Mk2), Peugeot 2008 (Mk1), Range Rover Evoque (Mk1), Land Rover Discovery Sport, Discovery III & IV, Lexus RX Hybrid (Mk3), Mercedes-Benz CLS (Mk2), and Ford Galaxy (Mk2, diesel version).
