Mercedes-Benz says it will begin the production of all-electric vans and MPVs on an innovative platform known as the Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA). The flamboyant Vision V Concept seen here can give you a first taste of what to expect.
The limo-like minivan is supposed to represent the most deluxe V-Class vision that the automaker is currently considering. As such, it has only four seats inside, the driver’s row separated from the rest of the interior by a special partition. It looks striking with a generously backlit radiator grille and oversized 24-inch wheels.
Passengers will know to appreciate ultra-comfortable seats stitched together from pillows, a 65-inch display, a gaming console on board and a 42-speaker audio system. The center console provides a touchscreen display with multimedia controls, but you can easily repurpose it into a chess table or even a dining table.
The new minivan lineup from Mercedes will include models named VLE and VLS. The Vision V is likely a pre-production version of the VLS, because it comes loaded with S-Class luxury features.
