Mitsubishi promises tech upgrades in Outlander Ralliart

The Ralliart version of Mitsubishi’s Outlander SUV is coming, but is it meaningfully different from stock?

According to Kentaro Honda, the Chief Engineer of the Ralliart project, the sported-up Outlander will bring more to the table than just fancy trim bits. He declined further comment, so the rest is up to speculation.

The Japanese automaker teased a sportier Outlander version three years ago, but hasn’t supplied any new details since then. Even the images seen here are the original renderings not necessarily indicative of the appearance of the production car.

The Ralliart badge was brought back to life in 2021, but Mitsubishi has only put it on stock cars with mild exterior upgrades so far (see video). If the Outlander gets some actual performance tweaks, that’d be nice to see for a change.
