Fiat manager’s grandson resurrects his granddad’s ride

You probably know Lapo Elkann is the owner of a tuning shop called Garage Italia Customs. Fewer remember, however, that he is also the grandson of Gianni Agnelli, once the CEO of Fiat. Not long ago, he acquired his famous granddad’s car, an old and seedy Fiat Panda 4X4 mini hatchback.

He began the restoration by painting the car in a silvery tint with dark blue and black stripes running along the body. He then replaced some of the interior upholstery with dark blue fabric. This included the seats, the doors and a part of the dashboard.

Lapo Elkann chose not to mess around with the original 53-hp / 40-kW strong engine of the car. Only certain worn parts were repaired or replaced.

It is unclear what Garage Italia Customs may want with this unique Fiat Panda 4X4. They might eventually sell it at an auction, or Elkann might keep it as a memory.
