This unique Tesla Model X will protect you against high-power pistol shots

Mexican manufacturer Centur Security has unveiled an armor-clad variant of the Tesla Model X SUV. The vehicle is currently waiting for its buyer in a Centur showroom.

This particular Model X takes advantage of a reinforced body structure that consists of steel and ballistic materials. The car can withstand direct pistol shots, including those fired from the formidable .44 Remington Magnum.

Aside from the new bodywork, Centur Security equipped the SUV with bulletproof windows, raising its total weight by around 250 kilograms (550 lb). According to the company, the car lost only a few percent of its original driving range. No acceleration data were provided.

If you feel like turning your Tesla Model X into an armored vehicle, prepare to wait for 12 weeks and pay U.S. $45,000 (car and taxes excluded).
