Pickup Design, a subdivision of Carlex Design dedicated to pickup truck customization and tuning, has announced its plans to create a carbon-fiber pickup vehicle based on the six-wheeled Mercedes-Benz X-Class.
The car will be based on the X-Class Exy 6x6 Concept. Once complete, it will likely act as a safety car or have a similar narrow specialization. Its entire body and aero kit will be made of carbon fiber.
The unique vehicle will also feature two winches, sports-grade suspension, a roof-mounted light bar, and carbon-ceramic brakes.
The atelier says nothing about engine performance right now. Should the original diesel engine of the X-Class Exy 6x6 remain intact, it will output 258 hp (192 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lbft) of torque, accelerating the vehicle 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in around 7.5 seconds.
On the inside, the new racecar will most likely sport leather-draped bucket seats and a roll cage.
