Porsche unveils new rally car

Luxury car manufacturer Porsche has unveiled a new rally car based on the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. The vehicle debuted before the GP Ice Race in Austria piloted by professional racing driver Richard Lietz.

Prices aren’t being discussed so far, but one could consider that the Clubsport Trackday racecar currently costs €134,000, while its Competition version comes priced at €23,000 above that.

Industry pros speculate that the new rally vehicle might be getting its suspension from the 911 GT3 Cup model. It might also come equipped with a rear axle differential and an improved version of the 3.8-liter, naturally aspirated Porsche engine rated at 425 hp / 317 kW. Transmission will likely be six-speed semi-automatic.

Starting in 2020, the car will participate in the FIA R-GT league of the tournament.
