Bentley schedules the Bentayga Speed for Geneva premiere

There are four models in the Bentley Bentayga family: V8, V12, diesel, and hybrid. Things will change at the upcoming 2019 Geneva Motor Show, though, where the company will reveal the fifth version of the Bentayga, proudly reported to be “the fastest SUV in the world”. That title is currently held by the Lamborghini Urus, and challenging it would be… well, challenging.

The new Bentley Bentayga Speed comes equipped with an improved 6-liter turbo W12 engine capable of 635 hp (474 kW). Despite its weight of 2.5 metric tons (5,500+ lbs), its reported top speed equals an impressive 306 km/h (190.1 mph), whereas the Urus can “only” do 305 km/h (189.5 mph).

That said, the car sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.9 seconds, which is somewhat less impressive than the 3.6s of the Urus.

Aside from the monster engine, the Geneva debutant sports tweaked suspension, a new exhaust system with a powerful soundtrack, and better throttle response in Sport mode. Carbon-ceramic performance brakes are going to be optionally available.

On the outside, the SUV boasts a darkened radiator grille, 22-inch wheels, an enormous rear spoiler, and bumper garnishes painted to match its body.

Interior upholstery is also new, and involves generous amounts of Alcantara.

The first batch of the Bentley Bentayga Speed will arrive this spring.
