‘Revolutionary’ Chevrolet Corvette C8 interior leaks in spy photos

The current C7 generation of the Chevrolet Corvette it still attractive enough to warrant a purchase, but the new Corvette C8 is getting closer by the day. Let us have a look at the freshest batch of discreetly made photos of the new model.

Compared to the previously encountered C8 test mules, this one wears much less mascara, and the headlights look like the final production version. Still, it is the interior that attracts our foremost attention.

Based on the images, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 gets a squared-off steering wheel and a digital instrument panel with the odometer displayed in the middle, lateral accelerometer on the left, and chassis/multimedia info on the right.

Also visible are A-pillars draped in Alcantara, a rear view mirror that plays back the video stream it receives from the rear camera, and a paddle shifter under the wheel.

While not official yet, many believe that the next-gen Corvette will ship with a choice among three V8s: a 4.2 turbo, a 5.5 turbo, and a 6.2 naturally aspirated (comes with the entry-level spec and links to an eight-speed semi-automatic transmission).

The top trim version will come with a hybrid powertrain based on the 5.5-liter twin-turbo mentioned above and an electric motor. According to unofficial sources, it may output as much as 1,000 hp (745 kilowatts) to all four wheels.

The new Chevrolet Corvette C8 will enjoy its live premiere very soon and become available for pre-ordering this summer. First cars will not reach their owners until 2020, though.
