Singer Vehicle Design bringing its Porsche 911 DLS to the Monterey show

Singer Vehicle Design celebrates its 10th birthday this year. Ten years is not much at all by tuner standards, but the dedicated Porsche restomod builder has already found international acclaim as one of the best ones. At the upcoming Monterey Car Week, the team will once again demonstrate the last year’s crowd favorite, the Porsche 911 DLS.

The full name of the car is ‘Dynamics and Lightweight Study’, which highlights the current priorities of the U.S. classical tuner pertaining to the Porsche 911 (964) series: improving dynamics and minimizing curb weight.

The restomod packs a custom 4.0-liter, air-cooled six-cylinder mill designed with the assistance from Williams Advanced Engineering. The unit is rated at 500 hp (373 kW) and revs up to 9,000 RPM.

Such renowned racing drivers as Chris Harris and Marino Franchitti took part in developing and testing the vehicle.

Singer says the production will launch soon, without specifying the planned number of units. Prices begin at U.S. $1,800,000 and only go upwards from there.
