Chevrolet hangs a C8 Corvette on a wall

U.S. carmaker Chevrolet has found an original way to advertise its upcoming eighth generation of the Corvette by affixing a real pre-production sample of the car to the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

A pedestal with the emblem of the Detroit Red Wings, the hockey team whose home stadium the Arena is, sits at the base of the sculpture. The supercar can be seen as if riding from out of the pedestal. The letters to the right and left of the emblem get together to form ‘PWR PLAY’.

The company says it chose this approach to advertise the super sports car to the widest possible audience, as the dealerships are still waiting for it to arrive next year. It adds that the vehicle on the wall isn’t a mockup, but a full-fledged pre-production sample painted over in bright red.
