The Bertone Mantide is a walkthrough ticket to any auto show

The one-off masterpiece you see here is called Mantide. A C6 Corvette ZR1 at heart, it was designed by Jason Castriota and built by Stile Bertone in Italy.

Originally, production plans existed for ten such cars, but only one ended up seeing the daylight. The coupe comes powered by a 6.2-liter turbocharged V8 which delivers 638 horsepower (476 kilowatts) to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

According to its makers, the Bertone Mantide sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and maxes out above 350 km/h (217 mph).

As soon as it was completed, the two-door vehicle went on a lengthy press tour, after which it returned home to the USA, where it gained a Pearl While paintjob. Currently, the odometer reads slightly more than 10,000 miles (16,000 kilometers).
