Ford Mustang Mach-e has a hidden ‘open door’ button

The recently revealed Ford Mustang Mach-e surprised some with its lack of traditional door handles. As Jalopnik shows us in the video here, there are small buttons concealed in the pillars for that purpose.

You can also use your smartphone to unlock the e-SUV. A similar tech is used in Tesla cars, including the Model Y, touted as the main rival of the Mach-E. The latter is even $4,000 USD more affordable than Elon Musk’s upcoming SUV ($43,000 vs. $47,000 before options).

However, the Y isn’t here yet, and the ‘Mustang’ Mach-e is only available to pre-order as the First Edition AWD ($59,900). A RWD version will hit the showrooms later packing a 75.7-kWh battery, and a GT variant fill follow with a 98.8-kWh battery. The driving range will lie somewhere in the 340 – 600 km (211 – 373 mile) area, depending on your chosen trim configuration.
