2020 Subaru Forester X-Edition debuts with same tech, new seats

The more off-road-capable variant of the SUV boasts seats wrapped in water- and dirt-resistant fabric that should keep them clean at all times.

Powering the 2020 Subaru Forester X-Edition is the standard 2.5-liter gasoline engine rated at 185 hp (138 kW), which links to a CVT and both axles. Visible distinctions include 18-inch siver-tinted wheels and dark bezels surrounding the radiator grille and the anti-fog lights. The trunk lid houses a useful LED light for illuminating the luggage area itself and the ground around it.

Inside, the novelty boils down to the abovementioned seats and rubber mats.

Sales of the Forester X-Edition will launch in Japan in late January 2020 starting from 3,179,000 Yen (29,000 USD).
