Volkswagen Caddy leaks ahead of premiere

The 2020 VW Caddy facelift should go live on official terms in a couple weeks, but these leaked images have spoiled the surprise.

The new Caddy looks a fair bit different from its predecessor. Among other things, it has redesigned LED-based headlights, a new lower grille with a honeycomb pattern, a narrower radiator grille, and the new VW badge. The brake light housings are darker and now stretch all the way up to the roof.

The LCV will emerge in multiple versions, including single and dual trunk door, as well as single and dual rear side doors.

Switching to the new MQB Evo architecture will enable the new Caddy to benefit from a wider range of available powertrains, including hybrid ones. The current generation ships in FWD and AWD versions and offers a choice between a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine (110 hp / 82 kW), a 1.6-liter turbo (125 hp / 93 kW), and two diesels with 110 hp (82 kW) and 140 hp (104 kW), respectively.
