DS unveils a 680HP electric vehicle with straw ornaments inside

DS will be attending the International Motor Show in Geneva, Switzerland on March 3, 2020 with an all-electric coupe/SUV concept called Aero Sport Lounge. It has a few tricks up its sleeve.

The car measures around five meters (16.4 ft.) long and has an aerodynamically shaped body. It rides on enormous 23-inch wheels.

The interior trim features microfiber upholstery woven from three different components and marquetry straw ornaments by Lison de Caunes, handmade according to the tradition of the 17th century.

The car projects most of the real-time information onto the windshield and supports both voice commands and gestures.

The powertrain comes based on the same tech as the Formula E racecar DS Techeetah. Its 680hp (500kW) engine takes it from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, and a large 110-kWh battery ensures up to 650 kilometers (404 miles) of range, the engineers claim.

There is no doubt that the DS Aero Sport Lounge will remain a pure design study, but certain DS models may emerge based on it in the future.
