Giugiaro to bring the Style 2030 hyper-SUV to Geneva

GFG showed the Style 2030 Concept to a small circle of interested clients in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 21, 2019. Now, the company will be bringing the car to the GIMS-2020 for everyone to see.

Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro said they drew inspiration from Saudi Arabia symbols when working on the vehicle: the body colors correspond to those of the country’s national flag, and its design reminds of waby desert sands.

That said, the GFG Style 2030 essentially follows in the footsteps of the Kangaroo Project, a two-seater electric SUV revealed last year. That one also had aluminum framework and a carbon-fiber body. Unlike its predecessor, the Style 2030 has normal doors instead of gull’s wings, and sports a roof hatch and a functional trunk lid.

The interior has changed, too. The central display is different, and there are now two additional displays located directly above the digital dashboard that act like virtual side mirrors. A new touch-sensitive panel appeared next to the gear selector, and the air blowers became more prominently outlined.

The GFG Style 2030 features AWD and four-wheel steering. The company stays silent about the road clearance so far, but the concept car could vary it from 140 mm through 190 to 260 (5.5 – 7.4 – 10.1 inches, respectively).

The new car sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 km/h) in 3.8 seconds, while the Kangaroo could do the same in 3.5 s. The maximum speed amounts to 200 km/h (124 mph), which also represents a drop from the 250 km/h (155 mph) compared to the earlier concept version. On the plus side, the company claims that the specified speed is attainable on any terrain, no exception. Finally, the driving range is now being reported as 365 kilometers (227 miles), also a drop from 450 km (280 miles).
