Porsche 911 Turbo S Lightweight Package brings GT3-like styling

According to Frank Weissmann, Client Success Manager for Porsche North America, the Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe will soon receive a new option called the Lightweight Package.

As the name suggests, it will include carbon-fiber bucket seats with a leather or Alcantara trim, less noise proofing, and no rear seat row. As a result, the car will weigh in at 1,610 kilograms (3,550 lbs), which is 30 kg (66 lbs) below the standard. Further options include thinner side glass, a lightweight exhaust system, and a 10mm (0.2-inch) ride height reduction for the stock PASM adaptive suspension.

No acceleration figures are provided. The standard 911 Turbo S zaps from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.7 seconds.

Another upgrade is coming up in the form of the Sport Package, which will be available for both the Coupe and the Cabriolet variants of the 911 Turbo S. It introduces black exterior décor, redesigned brake lights, new wheels, and a carbon roof (coupe only).
