New Hummer EV shows up on video, won’t premiere in May

General Motors has two news for Hummer fans: good and bad. The good one is that you can catch a glimpse of the all-new Hummer EV in the video. The bad is, it will not be revealed on May 20, as promised earlier.

General Motors announced the revival of the Hummer series in the beginning of the year. The ongoing coronavirus epidemic prevented it from getting the first prototype ready for the premiere this month, though, and no new date has been announced so far.

To prove that work is in full swing on the GMC Hummer EV, the company shot a short aerial video showing the car running along a forest road.

In its top spec, the pickup truck will get three electric motors joining their efforts for around 1,000 hp (745 kilowatts). It will accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in about three seconds.

The market launch date remains likewise unknown, but the second half of 2021 seems the most realistic.
