Jeep launches 2021 Compass SUV in Europe, prices pending

Jeep has introduced the Europe spec of its Compass SUV. The model gets a new engine and should become available soon; prices remain to be announced.

The new engine is a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mill that burns gasoline for 130 or 150 hp (97 or 112 kW), depending on your chosen version. Both versions have the peak torque clamped at 270 Nm (200 pound-feet). The 130hp mill ships with a six-speed manual gearbox, while its stronger counterpart benefits from a seven-speed semi-automatic transmission. The old 1.4-liter gasoline engine is not available, but you can still opt for the 1.6-liter diesel rated at 120 hp (90 kW).

In its AWD form, the 2021 Jeep Compass is a hybrid car that combines the abovementioned 1.3-liter engine with an electric motor and a traction battery. You can choose between 190 and 240 hp versions (142 and 180 kW, respectively).
