Ford Mustang flaunts new Forgestar wheels and air-ride suspension

Wheel vendor Forgestar has published a post on its social pages showing a rather flashy slammed Ford Mustang S550 fitted with F14 Beadlocks. Care for a closer look?

The alloy wheel has six dual spokes and comes in a matte-black finish. Air Lift Performance suspension makes sure the rims stay deep within the arches, lending the iconic muscle car an even sportier stance. Normally, extreme off-roading vehicles use beadlocks to prevent the tires from slipping on the rims or slipping off altogether. Both these issues are common when the wheel diameter is small, the tire diameter is much larger, and the tire is underinflated. However, extreme sprint-race cars, like the Mustang, often get their innards boosted to around 1,000 horsepower, which introduces tire-related risks. To prevent the rubber from coming off during burnouts, beadlocks are routinely used on the rear wheels.
