Fate of the GIMS 2021 goes undecided again after failed crediting attempt

The situation around the Geneva International Motor Show remains critical over fears that the next event planned for March 4–14, 2021 may fall through, says CEO Sandro Mesquita in his interview to La Tribune de Genève.

This year’s Geneva expo was canceled at the last moment due to the coronavirus, provoking an avalanche of serious financial losses for all parties involved. Unless there issues are sorted out soon – through court, insurance or otherwise – the show might as well become history.

The Swiss government owns the Palexpo Center shown in the gallery and the video here, while a private foundation controls 50 percent of Palexpo SA. Recently, the foundation had tried asking the Switzerland authorities for a credit, but ended up with an offer it couldn’t call viable.
