Audi Q4 e-tron spied testing in its own native body

When car spotters tracked down and photographed the upcoming Audi Q4 e-tron SUV back in April, the car’s chassis and tech were concealed under the Volkswagen ID.4 test mule body. Today, what looks like the finalized Q4 e-tron went out for a test drive.

The car closely reminds us of its prototype revealed some time ago (watch the video to refresh what it looked like). It basically loses its side cameras in favor of conventional mirrors and gains normal door handles, but that’s about it. The final production spec may end up with smaller air intakes and wheels – and probably a restyled radiator grille, but none of this is certain at the moment.

No cabin shots exist so far, but we’d assume the interior looks just like it did in the concept car, with the 12.3-inch infotainment display handling most of the in-car functions.

The new Q4 e-tron shares its MEB architecture with the upcoming Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq iV models and should therefore be very similar to them in terms of tech. Supposing Audi wouldn’t release any kind of entry-level RWD spec, the e-tron would then get dual motors jointly rated at 306 hp (228 kW). Its 82-kWh battery would give it around 450 km (280 miles) of WLTP-rated range.

The premiere may or may not take place this year.
