Mercedes-Benz X-Class gets hardcore treatment from a German tuner

As you probably know, Mercedes pulled the plug on the X-Class pickup mere two years after production start. It wasn’t even a bad car per se – just a badly overpriced one, especially compared to the nearly identical and nearly 30% more affordable Nissan Navara. This week, German tuner-up shop ECG tried to make the X-Class price tag a bit more justifiable.

The Xtreme Klasse project ended up with the truck receiving the full Prior Design PD550 body kit, an expensive suspension upgrade based on Bilstein shocks, voluminous fender flares, and AMP 10VT Forged light alloys 22 inches across.

The ECG team didn’t stop there and then, additionally boosting the stock six-cylinder turbo from 258 to 303 hp (192 – 226 kW). The torque simultaneously went up from 550 to 655 Nm (406 – 483 lb-ft). Unless we are mistaken, Wetterauer Engineering provided the chip tuning.
