Ares Design works on a crystal-encrusted custom ride

Ares Design has teamed up with French crystal glass vendor Lalique to build a one-off vehicle inspired by the automotive past and supported by innovative technology.

Just what exactly the vehicle is remains unclear at this point, although the teaser pic suggests it’s a vintage roadster with elongated bonnet, retractable soft top, and chromed door handles and mirrors.

For its part, Lalique is busy designing numerous handcrafted crystal glass ornaments and details.

Earlier this month, Ares Design unveiled the 650-hp (485-kW) supercar called Panther ProgettoUno, which it stylized to look like the iconic De Tomaso Pantera. Watch the video for more details on that project.
