1st Skoda EV revealed on pre-production sketches

Skoda has released official sketches of its upcoming Enyaq iV, a battery SUV announced in February.

Judging by the Founder’s Edition badge, the car belongs to the first production batch of 1,895 specially trimmed vehicles announced earlier. No specs exist at this time, but we doubt that the standard production version will have such large wheels or concealed door handles.

The Skoda Enyaq iV is 4,648 mm (15.25ft.) long, 1,877 mm (6.16ft.) wide and 1,618 mm (5.31ft.) tall with 2,765 mm (9.07ft.) separating the axles. Its trunk volume amounts to 585 liters, or 20.66 cubic feet.

From the technical point of view, the model is a full clone of the still unreleased Volkswagen ID.4. As such, it comes with the same selection of batteries culminating in the 82-kWh option, which is enough for 500 kilometers (310 miles) of uninterrupted driving. Customers can choose between one engine (RWD) and two engines (AWD).

Finally, there will be a top-of-the-line model called Enyaq iV RS. Skoda claims it is its most powerful production car to date, coming to the market with 306 hp (228 kW) under the hood and capable of reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.2 seconds.

The Skoda Enyaq iV will celebrate its reveal in Prague, Czech Republic on September 1, 2020. Production will start in Mlada Boleslav factory later this year, but the first shipments won’t be made until 2021.
