Skoda Scala-based roadster gets compared to its spiritual predecessor

Skoda has put its latest conceptual roadster, the Slavia, next to its ideological ancestor, the racecar called 1100 OHC. Care to watch the video comparison?

Pro rally driver and world champion Jan Kopecký tested the modern ride first and the 1957MY sports car second. In case you missed our report from earlier, a group of Skoda Academy students built the unique Slavia roadster to resemble the iconic 1100 OHC. They took the Scala hatchback chassis for the project and never installed the roof or the rear sofa. Instead, the open-top vehicle landed with bucket seats, 20-inch Kodiaq RS wheels, Octavia RS brakes and an insane 2,250W audio system.

The name of the custom roadster – Slavia – pays homage to the bicycle model Skoda founders Wacław Laurin and Wacław Klement used to produce back in the time. It is a pure design study with no production prospects.
